Virtual Rocker Rock Band Silencing Drum Disks - Sensitivity Testing with Drum Roll

Rock Band Drums vs. Guitar Hero World Tour Drums
Guitar Hero is playing catch up against Rock Band and are they playing a good game of catch up. I didn’t think my living room could handle another drum set but when I saw the demo video I am pretty impressed. They talked about sensitivity hits, meaning the harder or softer you hit the drum set, will effect the amount of sound it will make in the game. I pound on my Rock Band Drum set big time, ala Dave Grohl. So, if my drumming style will finally get some points or credit in the game that would be cool. Looks like they put alot of work and celebs into creating this set. They also kept talking about how the set will easily fold up and stored. They might have mentioned that fact three times in the video. That has to be a biggest issue most gamers face, because we just don’t have enough room in our living rooms for another drum set. Hopefully Red Octane will be gracious enough to make the set compatiable with Rock Band. We’ll soon find out.

Harmonix and Rock Band look out! With the recent and tremendous success of Rock Band with it’s Drum Set and Vocal capability. Guitar Hero strikes back with Guitar Hero World Tour! Claiming to have the most realistic drum set and added vocals. Is this little too late? Can gamers handle an additional bulky drum set in their living room? The big question is if the Guitar Hero Drum set will be compatible with Rock Band? We’ll soon find out.

We’ve seen plenty of Guitar Hero automation hacks and now its Rock Band’s turn. Originally, they tried using photoresistors suction cupped to the TV, but failed miserably. So, they used software used for Christmas light shows to get the job done. The video does a pretty thorough job of explaining the process, although the programming they used does get a bit complicated.

Here at VirtualRocker we wanted to build a place where gamers can connect. With YouTube.com being the gorilla that it is, many gamers find if difficult to connect with other REAL gamers and find it difficult to show off their drum, guitar, or vocal stylings without being criticized or mocked at. So we launched a new gamers network strictly for Rock Band and Guitar Hero enthusiast. Plus, all new gamers that join the website will get coupon codes and discounts in the VirtualRocker webshop. Check it out and represent!
The new site is finally up! We just launched the new website design and did an extreme makeover. To celebrate we had a launch party and made a homebrew music video. Enjoy!
